Soprano Jessica Sandidge has been praised for her “luminous strands of silver vocalism” (Parterre Box) and her “voice of both power and beauty” (OperaWire).

Her 2026-2027 season includes debuts with Tacoma Opera and Nashville Opera.

Praised for her “luminous strands of silver vocalism” (Parterre Box) and a “voice of both power and beauty” (OperaWire), Los Angeles-based soprano Jessica Sandidge connects with audiences through her wide-ranging vocal skills and dramatic performances.

Her performance schedule balances standard operatic roles with exciting new works. On the traditional stage, she recently starred as a “marvelous” Manon Lescaut with the Opera Festival of Chicago (The Hyde Park Herald), made her company debut as the Foreign Princess in Rusalka with Opera Modesto, and sang the title role in Susannah with St. Petersburg Opera. Her performance as the trouser role Walter in La Wally with Sarasota Opera was also praised by Opera Warhorses for its vocal virtuosity. Her international credits include singing the title role in The Merry Widow with Musica Viva in Hong Kong. Upcoming highlights include her role and house debut as Sieglinde in Die Walküre with Tacoma Opera.

Jessica also enjoys championing new music and creating roles in world and regional premieres. She worked with The American Opera Project in Kirsten Volness’s Letters that you will not get, sang the role of Eva Perón in the U.S. premiere of Carlos Franzetti’s Corpus Evita, and was only the second soprano to perform Margaret Hughes in Carlisle Floyd’s final opera, Prince of Players. Next, she will sing the title role in Fortuna the Timebender vs. the Schoolgirls of Doom! with Nashville Opera.

She has also performed rare historical works, earning praise from The New York Times for Donizetti’s Il Pigmalione with New York City Opera, and starring in Gluck revivals with the Pacific Opera Project.

Jessica joined the Metropolitan Opera roster in the 2016/17 season, covering roles like Jano in Jenůfa and Dawn in the U.S. premiere of Nico Muhly’s Marnie. On the concert stage, she made her Carnegie Hall debut in Fauré's Requiem and her Lincoln Center debut performing Ah, forse è lui...Sempre libera in Rose Hall. She sings often as a guest soloist with the Los Angeles Symphony and New West Symphony, and appeared on screen in Apple TV’s series The Morning Show.

Her international awards include the Grand Prize at the Marker and Pioneer International Singing Competition, prizes in the London and Medici International Competitions, and an Encouragement Award from The Wagner Society of New York. Alongside her classical career, Jessica teaches voice at Azusa Pacific University and Concordia University, and tours the U.S. playing mandolin and singing with her alt-classical band, The Opera Cowgirls.
